Ardent Craft Ales is hiring a part-time Cellarperson/Packaging Assistant to support our production team at our 15 bbl brewhouse.
We’re looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual who’s eager to contribute to our daily cellar and packaging operations. This is a great opportunity for someone with brewery experience to grow their skills in a respected, fast-paced craft brewery environment.

Position Responsibilities & Duties
Lift up to 50 lbs and push up to 150 lbs, with the endurance to stand for most of your shift.
Perform daily CIP processes for fermentation vessels and brite tanks.
Wash and prepare kegs for filling.
Assist with all packaging operations, including canning and kegging.
Support yeast handling processes, including harvesting, pitching, and management.
Work directly with brewers to assist with ingredient prep and handling on brew days.
Prepare and complete beer transfers to brite tanks.
Conduct dissolved oxygen and dissolved CO₂ sampling.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the brewhouse.
Follow all relevant company standard operating procedures and maintain regular communication with the Head Brewer to keep them informed of activities and any issues that may come up.
Experience & Skills
Minimum 1+ year of experience in a commercial brewery.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness, safety, and quality.
Solid interpersonal communication skills.
Familiarity with cellar operations, packaging equipment, and basic lab sampling preferred.
Reliable, team-oriented, and eager to continue learning.
Willingness to work flexible part-time hours, including some early morning, evenings and weekends if needed.
Industry references encouraged.
Physical Position Requirements
An employee in this position works primarily in a manufacturing environment, working in, on, and around vessels and pipes under pressure containing air, CO₂, water, beer, chemicals, steam, and hazardous chemicals. The nature of the position requires one to frequently reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as to ascend and descend a staircase repeatedly throughout the shift. As the work areas are mechanical in nature and may be elevated, the employee may be required to complete fall protection training and/or special training for entering confined spaces.

We began as a co-op in a Richmond garage, a space where we sought to create innovative beers and introduce others to historic brewing methods and beer styles.
