Join us Saturday for the release of Schwarzbier, a clean-drinking and sessionable dark German lager!

We first brewed the Schwarzbier last year as the specialty, featured brew for our second anniversary. We enjoy this classic German style because it's low in ABV but still full-flavored. Although it's dark in color, it's sessionable and easy-drinking. We find this style to be balanced and clean, and enjoy drinking it any time of year. We were honored when it won the gold medal in the Darker European Beer category at the 2016 Virginia Craft Beer Cup.

Tasting notes: Schwarzbier is a sessionable dark German lager with a slightly chocolaty, roasted aroma. Medium bodied, with a crisp and clean mouthfeel. Subtle malt flavors are balanced with moderate hop bitterness, followed by a pleasantly roasty finish. 5.0% ABV, 30 IBU.
